Headings

Structure your content with semantic heading levels

About Headings

Headings help organize your content into a clear hierarchy. They're essential for both readability and SEO. Use headings to break up your content and guide readers through your article.

Headings also get added to the navigation menu on the blog page.

Heading Levels

Heading 1

Used for the main title of your post. Automatically generated from your post title.

/h1 or /heading1

Heading 2

Main sections of your content. Use for major topics.

/h2 or /heading2

Heading 3

Subsections within H2 sections.

/h3 or /heading3

Best Practices

  • Use headings hierarchically

    Don't skip levels (e.g., don't jump from H2 to H4)

  • Only one H1 per page

Your post title is the H1. Start content sections with H2

  • Keep headings concise

Aim for 2-6 words that clearly describe the section

  • Include keywords

Use relevant keywords in headings for better SEO

  • Make them descriptive

Headings should give readers a clear idea of what to expect
